On-line access secures content owners a foothold in the marketplace,  whether  cultural or commercial.  Europe&#8217;s cultural heritage deserves the widest possible exposure, and <a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"http:\/\/www.europeana.eu\" target=\"_blank\">Europeana<\/a>, the EU&#8217;s flagship cultural heritage web portal, supports this aim.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\"><figure class=\"alignleft is-resized\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/dismarcnewversion.files.wordpress.com\/2019\/06\/europeana-logo_english_apples_0-1.gif\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-411\" width=\"187\" height=\"270\"\/><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>DISMARC  aggregates music for Europeana.  And not only music: DISMARC  also aggregates music-related  items including videos,  photographs, books, documents and manuscripts. Via  DISMARC, content providers (archives,  broadcasters, museums,  universities, research institutes, private  collectors) open up their  collections to the wider world. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>DISMARC collects metadata from participating archives, maps it to a  <a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"http:\/\/www.europeana.eu\" target=\"_blank\">Europeana<\/a>-compliant  protocol, and stores it securely.
