Title:VEM- Sacred songs from Armenia
Genre:Ritual
Description:“VEM” means rock in Armenian. The name of the album concerns the site where the recording was realized- the XII century rocky monastery Geghart in Armenia and the chapel, wich is builted in the rock. Fantastic acoustics of the grotto and the symbolic phrases from the Bible in English, French, Latin, Aramaic and Armenian accentuate the mysticism of the Armenian sacred songs (the most ancient ones come from IV-V centuries A.C). Traditionally, such sacred songs are interpreted "a cappella", but the Armenian traditional wind instruments are incorporated into these arrangements in a very light manner. The sound of "SHVI", "TAV SHVI" and "BLUL" is mixed with the narration from the Genesis. And Lucineh’s voice completes the image. 14 tracks of the CD make you feel the universe ’s breathe. 1.Great mystery (M. Khorenatzi, 5th century) 2.Profound mystery (Kh. Daronatzi, 12th-13thcc.) 3.O’ mysterious… (G. Bahlavuni, 11thc.) 4.Light creator of light (M. Khorenatzi, 5thc.) 5.Radiant bird (G.
