Description:Since August of 2000, Jared Grabb has played a variety of solo shows around the country, playing over 100 shows in 25 states and opening for Against Me!, Planes Mistaken for Stars, Owen, The White Octave, The Prom, Aloha, Minus the Bear, Ten Grand, Reubens Accomplice, The Velvet Teen, and ZAO at a few of these shows. He released his full-length CD on Thinker Thought Records in 2002 and has since been a member of several years in both Scouts Honor (No Idea Records) and The Forecast (Victory Records). “On the Inside” tells the story of a man searching for love and finding only confusion and frustration. In the title track, Jared sings the sad stories of the lonely: that of the woman who searches so desperately for love that she gives herself away, and that of the man who does not seek love at all. “The sun comes up and it bleeds through the blinds revealing a whore as another man slips out the door. Eyes open as heat fades away, and Glutony faces the day as she whispers so low, ‘How’d this room get so cold?’ Then we see our man Dignity who is much to proud to see anything, much less opportunity, if he’d have to give of himself. They’re both so alone. They’re both, oh, so cold.” The arrangements found on “On the Inside” are raw and honest, utilizing only organic instruments, such as saxophone, acoustic guitar, piano, dulcimer, drums, and bass. The songs range stylistically from quieter folk-influenced songs to catchy pop songs to songs that mirror modern post-hardcore and math-rock. Jared Grabb has a style that is solely his own.
