Title:Latin Soul Orchestra
Genre:Latin Soul
Description:Latin/Soul legend Joe Bataan brings to this Bataan/Alan Lorber production a cross fusion of Latin, disco & jazz in a large orchestral setting. Also unique to the album is the "LaSo Square", a disco-Latin square dance with “calls” by Bataan. The album includes the fantastic orchestral Latin/jazz rendition of Stevie Wonder’s “Another Star” featuring saxophonist/flutist Bob Porcelli, & Alan Lorber’s soaring “Sugar” with the late Latin trumpet star Victor Paz in the lead. The album includes an all-star line up of R&B, Latin and jazz musicians which include Chocki Quintero on congas & bongos, Cornell Dupree, guitar, Frank Owens, keyboards, the LaSo Singers and strings and featured vocalists, Bataan, Julian Llano & Jocelyn Shaw, with arrangements by Marty Sheller. This is the first reissue of this 1975 album.
