On it’s original release the opening track I Never Know Where You Are was awarded Single Of The Week in Melody Maker and Between Happiness And Heartache described by NME as “Possessing choruses that aren’t just sweeping but do the polishing and washing up as well” by Select as “A must for buffs of pre Pixies 4AD” and in Q ”For believers in the beauty of lonliness” 4****. This reissue of Between Happiness And Heartache includes Everything I See which was previously only available on the Don’t Just Disappear EP Described by The LA Weekly as producing “Melodies so lush they could drink a concrete statue of Oliver Reed under the table”, Breathless’ last album Behind The Light received a 4 Star review in Uncut and was described as “A gorgeous wallow in one way love”. “Delicate, mesmeric beauty” and ”A shimmering widescreen Soundscape” and their previous album Blue Moon as “Staggering like the very best bits of Ladies And Gentlemen We Are Floating In Space with more strobe lights” and hailed by THE GUARDIAN as “Exquisite melancholic pop” and he TIMES as “A lovely tearful noise” | |
