Description:The Virtual Strangers cyberband was envisaged by Guy Pople in 2003, after an inspired jam with International Pipa virtuoso Liu Fang and the fortuitous arrival of broadband Internet access to the remote northwest of England. The concept was further galvanized when Americans Eric Sands and Fernando Diez agreed to man the rhythm section. As the Virtual Strangers vibe began to take shape, the now enthused Guy began to reach out to other like-minded musicians in order to fully realize the emerging music. At the time of the release of their debut cd 'PRELUSION', the band is comprised of the following unique individuals: Guy Pople (UK) - Guitarist & FX man Fernando Diez (USA) - Drummer & Percussionist Eric Sands (USA) - Bassist Evva Mizerska (Poland / UK) - Cellist Paul Cheneour (UK) - Flautist John Gibson (UK) - Clarinetist & Rhodes Pianist Ambroise Charron (France) - Saxophonist Cheng Yu (China / UK) - Pipa & Guquin player Sherene Strausberg (USA) - Pianist Alina Bzhezhinska (Poland / Scotland) - Harpist Maya Sapone (Italy / UK) - Soprano Georgina Elman (UK) - Electric Violinist The Virtual Strangers are fearless in their production of music that is both harmonious and multifarious. Inquiring minds in particular, will find it especially satisfying. This is what the experts think: "Sounds killer. Really twisted, like a winding road. Nice tones." Steve Di Giorgio on Lunar Nocturne "Wow, A very interesting composition! It's great to hear something different for a change." Carl Verheyen on Looking East
