| Custodial History: | Das Afro-karibische Musikarchiv entstand während der 1970er Jahre nach dem Aufbau einer umfangreichen Datei mit LATIN-CD's, die zur Zeit ca. 15.000 CD‘s aus den verschiedenen Bereichen der lateinamerikanischen Musik, wie Afro-Cuban, Cumbia, Merengue, Salsa, Tango, etc. enthält und gezielte Recherchen nach folgenden Kriterien ermöglicht: Interpret / Orchester, CD-Titel, Label, Nummer, Erscheinungs- / Aufnahmejahr und Genre. Zusätzlich wurden Back-Kataloge aus der Vinyl-Zeit ausgewertet und in eine Datei mit LATIN-LP’s überführt. Ungefähr 400 Label mit über 33.000 Eintragungen wurden bisher bearbeitet und nun bietet dieses Verzeichnis einen historischen Rückblick in die lateinamerikanischen Veröffentlichungen mit ihren unterschiedlichen Genres. Beide Dateien werden ständig ergänzt und erweitert, so daß sie einen guten Überblick über zurückliegende und aktuelle Musikproduktionen bieten. Mit ihnen lassen sich kultur- und musikhistorische Prozesse dokumentieren sowie über Künstler und Orchester disko-und biographische Informationen zusammenstellen. | |
